Grove Cottage is a newly furnished property situated in a position of natural beauty overlooking the Esk Valley and North Yorkshire Moors. It is within walking distance of Whitby harbour and within easy reach of many other popular destinations such as Robin Hood's Bay and Goathland. It is situated next to the Whitby to Scarborough cycle way and the beautiful Esk river.

Whitby, with its striking cliff top abbey, picturesque harbour, stunning coastal scenery, award winning beaches, cobbled streets and the traditional friendliness of its people is an ideal location for a well deserved break.

Stretching north and south of Whitby is an unspoilt coastline of high cliffs, sheltered bays and golden sandy beaches. Dotted along its length are the picturesque fishing villages of Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood's Bay with their narrow winding streets and tiny cottages full of history and charm. Inland from Whitby along the River Esk lies the heart of the National Park. A network of footpaths allows you to explore this varied landscape at your leisure on anything from a short ramble to an all day hike and there are plenty of cycle paths and bridleways.

There is an excellent network of bus and rail services across the National Park during the summer months with the Moorsbus network. The Esk Valley Railway can be seen from the cottage and winds its way from Whitby to Middlesborough stopping off at moorland villages along the way.

For the kids Whitby has it all - beaches, swimming baths, museums, pot painting, trampolining and of course the many events for children and adults at Whitby Abbey. Behind Grove Cottage in the small village of Ruswarp there is a miniature steam railway, boat hire on the River Esk, golf pitch and putt and a newly built indoor adventure play centre.
